A piece made to mostly try out a softer, lack of line look. It was a pain to do, since it was originally a hard inked piece scanned in, and after layering the colors I had to go over my black lines as well. My wrist hurt a bit after this.
One of my few pieces with a background, and I do like the way the lanterns look. Personally, I feel the image is too 'busy'. I even had fire flies in it, and I took them out when I saw how much was going on in the piece.
I don't think this is a style I'll work in too often.

If you ask me that blackness needs a little something to kick it up, or the foreground needs a little something to calm it down. The picture looks a bit unbalanced, and though it has an interesting set-up the blackness just seems to suck everything out of it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
